Hand:

One of my first sketches was a hand study. While working on it I learned to realize the play of shadows and curves that define objects.

The Eye of The Hawk:

I started out with a human eye and it looked dull. So I made things more prominent and gave it a general "gazing" stare that I found satisfying.

Kurt:

I was reading PC Gamer magazine when I came onto an ad for MDK II.

Kurt looked stunning, and I couldn't resist drawing him in his full body-suit.

I used a torchan after doing the outlines and sketching in the shadows to give it a general smooth leathery texture.

Comics:

I was hell-bent on making a comic book for a while. And I went on to explore drawing comic characters.

The first guy I made up, while listening to Rainbow's "Great Masquerade". It's a sinister piece that wants us all to "release the madness within."

The rest I ripped off from somewhere or other, just to study ways of drawing comic characters.

The idea is now filed away in a drawer somewhere in the hope of me actually doing it one day.

The problem is that drawing a whole comic book requires fast, confident drawing. And I'm still very slow.

I was having trouble with angles too. Recreating the same character from different angles with different poses wearing different expressions is not easy.

I'd have to put some serious time if I wanted to draw comics naturally. Maybe I'll go back to it one day.

The Seer (Sketch):

I did this sketch for a full acrylic painting of a guy I call the Seer, or oracle.

It's this weird story I've got in my mind that I wanted to make into a novel.

So many things unfinished. The novel has yet to materialize, but the painting is done.

Rawan:

I was looking around and I found this decent photo of my sister Rawan and it looked perfect.

I started out with some weird type of wax crayons and it didn't work out. So I redrew the whole thing again using a stick of good ole' charcoal.

This stuff never lets you down!

Guybrush Me:

I love the way things are drawn in Monkey Island III, and I wanted to try it out. I didn't have Murray at the time, so I just looked at a mirror and started scribbling.

My hair was long so the final result does look a little like Guybrush "mighty pirate" Threepwood.

Honor Bound:

This sketch was from a drawing book I was reading. The angle, expression and drawing style inspired me to try it out for myself.

Wish I could draw like this all the time. I mean, you know, on the fly.

Wolf in the Snow:

I've got this huge image collection nicely organized into categories and this one stuck out.

Its a wolf in the snow. Yep. And it simply looks beautiful with its eyes just taking in the landscape.

Who is Art?

I'm not really an artist. I just toy around with the prospect every now and then.

I hope to make my own comics soon. It's worth a try anyway.
